Let there be Hitch

Christopher Hitchens, what an exquisitely unique man. An Oxford educated international gangster who feared no one. A profoundly beautiful mind and a razor sharp wit that operated like a guillotine. At the same time, he was brave, private, outspoken, eloquent, charming, confrontational, stylish, hilarious, compelling, moving, brilliant, shocking, honorable, and devilish. The man was like some great character you might find in film or novels.....for me, there was always a sort of ongoing disbelief that this was actually a real person who existed in real life. Not fictional, but deliciously real. And completely unpredictable in what he might say, or do, or come up with next. He was a man who was perfectly comfortable with using 5 or 6 words in a sentence, the definition of which you would have no idea, but it wouldn't matter because the sheer performance of his oration would be context enough to get his gist. He was a man who could insult you on three different levels within the span of a sentence, smile wryly immediately after, and wait for you to figure out how and why you should be insulted as he took a sip of his whiskey and ran his fingers through his hair. To say he is missed is tragically obvious. I choose to focus on the fact that he was not missed, he was found, by myself, and by you as well. Thank you, Mr. Hitchens. Sincerely, Devon Tracey Become my patron! http://bit.ly/2lWaClT
