Brandon smart where standing in the middle of a parking lot outside the grandstand casino bar in Billings Montana obstructin traffic in the parking lot. They proceeded to try to start fights with everyone who drove through the parking lot, kicking one car, and then yelling at the driver of another car and kneeing their car door. Once they finally got the fight they were looking for, the 2 officers along with one non law enforcement friend of theirs began beating the driver of a car in the parking lot. The driver retrieved a hand gun to defend himself against the gang of attackers, and it is believed that a single shot was fired, and a piece of bullet shrapnal hit deputy smart in the face. While deputy smart walked away crying, his fellow officer and friend continued their relentless beating on their victim, until the victim was finally able to drive away. Neither of the two officers of their civilian buddy faced any criminal charges, and they are still employed by the departments today.
